ABOUT THE BAND

Stay Out is a high-energy punk rock band from Oakland, California, rooted deep in the East Bay DIY scene and driven by a relentless commitment to authenticity, connection, and explosive live performance. Formed in the summer of 2016 by Grant Pack and Mason McGeorge, the band quickly established itself as a force in underground punk- blending raw, aggressive energy with undeniably catchy hooks and melodic sensibility.
Fronted by the dual-vocal attack of Pack and McGeorge, Stay Out delivers a dynamic balance of grit and charisma, pairing blistering riffs with anthemic choruses that hit just as hard in a packed venue as they do through speakers. The lineup was solidified in 2018 with the addition of drummer Nate Reynoso, whose impact on the band’s songwriting and sound helped push their evolution into something sharper, louder, and more cohesive.
Drawing from the legacy of Bay Area punk while carving out their own lane, Stay Out fuses high-octane punk rock with pop-punk accessibility, creating music that’s both chaotic and emotionally resonant. Their lyrics tap into themes of defiance, isolation, struggle, and social tension—reflecting real experiences while maintaining an undercurrent of resilience and unity. Known for their wild, unpredictable live shows and DIY ethos, Stay Out has built their reputation from the ground up—handling everything from recording and production to booking, merch, and promotion independently.
That hands-on approach has earned them a loyal following, major regional recognition, and opportunities to share stages with established punk acts while expanding their reach across the U.S. and beyond. Stay Out won two awards for “the Gilman Awards” at 924 Gilman Street for “Best Punk Band” and “Best Single – Stay Forever” for 2025 on March 8th, 2026.

Grant Pack and Mason McGeorge of Stay Out is endorsed by 1919 Guitars est. March 2026, each having our own special custom. Grant’s 1919 custom bass guitar is the Colbert model in ice blue metallic with a special pick up switch, and one volume knob. Mason’s custom 1919 guitar is the Monroe II model Olympic white with black trim.
Nate Reynoso of Stay Out is proudly endorsed by SJC Drums. He currently performs on a USA Legacy Custom Series kit, featuring maple shells finished in a striking white marble.
Stay Out played the Pennywise Garage in the PUNK ROCK MUSEUM and toured So-Cal during the LA FIRES of January 2025 returning to the Punk Rock Museum in August 2026.
Stay Out crashed Warped Tour Block Party Feburary 1st, 2026 and we featured our friends bands Domino Effect and Jacob the Horse. Kevin Lyman (founder of Warped Tour) said “I love when these kind of things happen!”
Stay Out released a single with The Queers called “Life’s so Lonely” in 2023 on our 3rd LP “Just Pretend”
Stay Out featured in a full-length indie movie called “PUNK KIDS” (released 2023). Screened in several indie movie festivals.
Grant Pack & Stay Out made the “BAY AREA UNDERGROUND AGE 2026” multi-genre music compilation to help promote ourselves and other bay area musicians.
Played small clubs to big high profile gigs with bands like AGENT ORANGE, GUTTERMOUTH, PENELOPE HOUSTON (AVENGERS), PULLEY, CLARION, THE DOLLYROTS, THE BRIEFS, SUZI MOON, AUTHORITY ZERO, DR. KNOW, RADKEY, DOG PARTY, GRUMPSTER, D.I., JFA, VERBAL ABUSE & more.
Sold out a Denny’s DIY show with Domino Effect, Clarion and others in Bellflower / Paramount, California.
Stay Out collaborated with Original Pattern Brewing Co. (Oakland, CA) to release our own beer, “Stay Out’s Banshee Maple Brown Ale.” Brewed and distributed in 2021 & 2022.

FUN FACTS

Stay Out’s first album End of the East Bay was a rough recording done by Josh Garcia at Motor Studios when we first started. The bass guitar that you hear on the album is one of Fat Mike’s studio basses.
Stay Out met Fat Mike later at the Punk Rock Museum, and Grant told Mike that he was his illegitimate son as a joke.
Stay Out played their very first show at 924 Gilman St, Berkeley CA in February 2017.
Stay Out has side projects like Grant Pack’s hip-hop, Plunder, The Alfreds, & more.
Stay Out won 2nd place in a fan poll in 2026 ALT Press for best East Bay bands beating Operation Ivy, Rancid, and Green Day. AFI took 1st place based on ALT Press social media.
